Holiday Gift Guide
Every holiday season I play the same game with myself: how long can I put off holiday shopping? I know, it would be much more meaningful and efficient to purchase gifts throughout the year instead of the mad dash to find something perfect every November. But alas, I am not that person (and likely never will be). If you’re running the same dash I am, fear not, for I have gathered a list of thoughtful, unique gifts for everyone in your life!
I’m also a huge proponent of shopping small, and with the exception of the subscription boxes, every gift on this list helps support a small business. If you can’t find something on this list, do some searching in your local area to find small businesses to support this holiday season!
For The Book Lover
Of course if you’ve found this gift guide through my bookstagram you’ll be looking for the perfect gift for someone in your life who loves to read! Unfortunately, with this person you can rarely rely on gifting them an actual book, or risk duplicating something that is already on their shelf. Instead, give them one of these literary surprises!

A Book of the Month Subscription is the number one item on my Christmas list year after year! I love this as a gift for a few reasons. First, Book of the Month selects 5 books each month for subscribers to choose from and ships the book right to their door. You will never have to worry about sending a duplicate book! Second, BOTM has subscription tiers to accommodate different budget requirements. Choose from a 3, 6, or 12 month plan, and relax knowing you still paid less than bookstore pricing for high-quality, hard-backed books.

I know, I just recommended a subscription box, but this one deserves some recognition as well! I received the Once Upon A Book Club box subscription as a birthday present earlier this year (thank you Ashley!) and I loved it! These boxes include one paperback book, and gifts to open as you read that correspond with the story. You would never expect some of these presents: a reusable fruit/vegetable bag, a board game, and a book reading light are some of my favorites! If you don’t feel like giving a subscription, you can browse the website and find some of the gifts, or send a one-time box to a friend. You can shop on Etsy for tons of design and stamp options to help keep personal libraries organized, and to keep books with their rightful owners. This is a great lower budget gift too, as you can find the stamp that fits your price range!
Local Bookstore Gift Card
Of course, you can never go wrong with a gift card to your local book store. This is great for all budgets, you never risk getting them a duplicate copy, and you’re supporting shopping small! It’s a win-win.
For Your Mom
